Mein Hansi
Three years ago, the recycled and reused fashion line Mein Hansi was created by Luise Barsch, a fashion design student from Dresden, Germany. She believes in “fashion that is not made by people that suffer, that won’t be a piece of waste in 4 weeks, and that doesn’t cause too much trouble for our environment.”
Barsch wants her street wear to be “affordable and super cool too!” She uses second hand fabrics and clothing, that would have otherwise been thrown away to produce single pieces that are one of a kind.
Art and street culture is where Barsch gets most of her inspiration. And currently, she is interning in London, where she hopes the multicultural city will give her a lot of good energy and ideas. When it comes to her style, Barsch states”I don’t care about trends or the fast changing fashion periods,” Barsch says. “I do whatever I like and maybe you will like it too!”
In addition to designing clothes, Barsch leads a vegan lifestyle and performs in 3 musical groups: a hardcore band called The Tangled Lines, a reggae band called Bobby Pins & The Saloon Soldiers and an all girl punk band called Sugar Crash.
