Crafts in the Clubs is an occasional craft/art/zine/diy stuff sale that Truth Serum hosts at clubs around Boston. Sometimes
they’re planned during shows in the evening bringing back that old school vibe of when people used to sell their zines and 7”’s in the parking lots outside of punk rock shows. And sometimes Crafts in the Clubs is a sale in a club during the day.

Crafts in the Clubs offers folks another alternative to their holiday selling/buying experience with this afternoon of diy/indie, new and established, arts, crafts, clothes and other stuff, at Great Scott. We’ll have DJ’s all day and the bar will be open for those folks old enough to drink. Come check out what we’ve got “in store”!

Green Awareness Day

Alex Eaves will be speaking to the student body about the important of ReUse. The school’s YESS Club is running this Earth Day Celebration on April 18th. During this day there will be different speakers, presenting a variety of “green” ideas to the students.

EPA New England’s 6th Annual Green Expo

On April 22, STAY VOCAL will be amongst many exhibitors at the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) New England 6th Annual Green Expo, “a vendor fair featuring energy efficient, recycled, less-toxic, organic or otherwise environmentally preferable products and services. This event focuses on consumer products and services (not institutional items) and is designed to educate and empower the purchasing decisions of over 800 EPA staff and invited guests, including all local federal agencies. Earth Day Celebration

Enjoy the EcoZone, kids’ crafts and games, musical entertainment, nature walks, live animals and food. There’s something for everyone!

Environmental exhibitors will demonstrate ways to a greener life through composting, recycling, organic gardening, solar and wind energy, biofuel, green kitchens, and bathrooms, cleaning products, and more.

Featured entertainment will be provided by Marcia and Mark Wilson of Eyes On Owls as they present “Who’s Watching You? Owls of the World.” Observe six live owls up close, learn ho to attract and protect local owls, and have a hooting lesson – a fun and interactive program.

ReUse Demonstration

Alex Eaves will be speaking to and working with the 3rd graders of Foster Elementary School in Hingham, MA. With the help of Mailorder Mom and others, he will be demonstrating the concept of ReUse with different activities, including t-shirt making. This is the first day of a week full of a variety of “green” ideas being presented to the students at Foster Elementary.

Contest Win Celebration At Hanover Day

Not only will STAY VOCAL have a booth at Hanover Day 2008, but our friends at ideablob.com will be there as well to celebrate our win in their May idea contest.

The event runs from 10am -4pm at Sylvester Field, which is located on Rte 139 in the center of Hanover.

At 11:45, ideablob.com will present STAY VOCAL with one of those commemorative “big checks.” Afterwards, they will stick around to serve refreshments to our friends and family. So, if you’re in the area, please come join the party.

With more than 1,000 people attending the event each year, Hanover Day is a showcase of the diversity and quality of our community. Some of the events include an antique car show, art exhibits, children’s activities, crafts, local musicians, the ‘Taste of Hanover’ dining experience, and presentations by local civic groups. All proceeds from Hanover Day are put back into the community throughcultural grants benefiting local arts and culture. Some of these grants have included artists in residence at schools as well as concerts and art shows.
