Big D And The Kids Table
We members of Big D “stay vocal” in our music in a humanitarian way, not a political way. “Try Out Your Voice” is a call to the people to feel confident to stand up and speak their minds, join organizations they believe in and to use their minds, talents and bare hands to become a part of a solution in whatever their concern in this world may be. This song deters one from just being one who shouts about what they believe in at 2:00am in a bar and hopefully motivates them to become proactive in their beliefs and personal views of our world. It’s important for music listeners to know, that music is not the only place to join strangers in unity towards a common interest.
“Hell On Earth” is another song where BIG D points out the power of humanity and our choices we make with that power. With lyrics like, ‘If we can build the bomb, can’t we build heaven too’ BIG D questions the motivation of us all as a collective in humanity itself. This song also presents both sides to main steam issues – “Let the homo-phobes be scared – let the gays adopt with care’ – “Let pro-life be carnivores – let pro-choice be whores, let’s never help the bums” and “Let Charlton Hesston have his gun – let somebody shoot him just for fun”, all show both sides of important views and allows the listener to question even the topics we have developed a habit to forever battle over.
I would say BIG D has one message to the reads here on Stay Vocal and that is to try our your voice at least once on a topic you feel strongly about, join an organization and work hard to fix, heal or build upon what you find important to you and then see how it makes you feel.
