Peaches had been at the shelter for 2 1/2 months, and I was starting to get worried that she wasn’t going to get adopted. She was found stray in Hayward, CA and then a homeless woman came to the shelter and identified her as her dog. I don’t know if she couldn’t afford the fees to get her back or what. I’d add that Peaches has been my favorite shelter dog of the year. I would have adopted her if I didn’t already have two big dogs.
She was always happy, even after being in a cage for so long. She loved every person and dog she met along the way. When all the other dogs in her ward would be barking, she would just sit there patiently waiting for a volunteer to take her for a walk. She loved to play with toys in the off-leash run.
[A couple of weeks ago], a family of 8 adopted her (boo for them for having so many kids but yay for Peaches because she will probably hardly ever be alone!) Maybe putting her in [Alex's] favorite color bandana was the good luck she needed to get adopted!
